A Three Game Streak Without a Loss Is Great

The Timbers came into Saturday's Western Conference showdown on a two game winning streak. Posting their first clean sheet of the season against Austin FC earlier in the week on the road. Following up on a 2-1 home win over Sporting Kansas City only a few days earlier.

May's schedule was extremely taxing for Portland. With six matches in four weeks, with five of those matches taking place in the last three weeks. After a nine-game winless streak that tormented fans from mid-March until the last few weeks.

Everyone associated with the club needed this U-turn of form as players, the coaching staff & front office alike were coming under scrutiny from the Timbers army. June will likely be kinder to the Timbers with only four more fixtures spread out over the remaining 29 days of the month.

The Offense Is Beginning To Sync, And We Are Here For It

Yes, when goals are the name of the game. It is easy to be critical of your attacking core when things are tough. But now, the squad looks to be finding their offensive chemistry & rhythm during this streak.

Especially in transition, as the Timbers attacking core are beginning to read their proper runs & put the goal in the back of the net. This isn't exactly news as Portland have scored now scored a whopping 32 goals in just 17 matches thus far.

Even though the offense is beginning to look "prettier" & more efficient as players like Evander, Jonathan Rodriguez & Felipe Mora continue to better their form as we approach the half-way point in the season. Something has to be said about Portland's defense, which isn't perfect but improving each game.
